Each account in Puzzle has a Destructive actions section. To find it, go to Integrations, click the account to open it, and find Destructive actions. These actions permanently change your books, so read this before you use one.

Just want to stop syncing? Use Pause (stops syncing until you unpause) or Archive (stops syncing and hides the account) instead. See Adding, modifying, and troubleshooting integrations.

At a glance

Action

What happens to the data

Unlink

Deletes the data synced from that connection. Historical transactions are not kept.

Reset

Deletes everything ingested from the account, then resyncs it from scratch.

Remove

Deletes all existing data from the account and stops it from syncing again.

Merge Accounts

Moves a second account's transactions into this one and removes the second account.

None of these can be undone.

Unlink

Unlink deletes the data that was synced from that connection. It does not keep your historical transactions. After you unlink, the transactions that came in through that connection are removed from Puzzle.

If you want to keep the history, don't unlink. Use Pause or Archive, or contact support first and tell us what you're trying to do.

Reset

Not recommended. Reset permanently removes all historical data ingested from the account, including transactions, invoices, journals, vendors and bills, then resyncs it as if it were newly connected. It can't be undone, and it isn't available while any period is locked.

Don't use Reset to fix a sync issue. Contact support instead.

Resetting Stripe: Puzzle doesn't limit how far back it resyncs your Stripe history. There's no 2-year cap.

Remove

Remove deletes all existing data from the account and prevents it from syncing again.

Merge Accounts

Use Merge Accounts when you have a duplicate account, for example a manual account that's now connected through a live feed.

  • The account you open first is the one that's kept. The account you select in the merge flow is removed, and its transactions move into the kept account.

  • Merge your historical or manual account into your connected one so future transactions keep flowing in.
