Written by Michael Herchen

If you have a duplicate bank account in Puzzle (for example, manual account that's now connected via a live feed), you can merge them so all transactions live under a single account.

Before you start

  • The account you select first is the one that's kept. The second account (the one you select inside the merge flow) is removed.

  • Keep the connected account. As a rule of thumb, merge your historical or manual account into your connected one so future transactions continue to flow in automatically.

  • The merge cannot be undone, so double-check your selection before confirming.

How to merge two bank accounts

  1. Go to the account you want to keep (the connected one).

  2. Click Merge.

  3. Select the manual account you want to remove.

  4. Confirm the merge.

After a few page refreshes, the historical account will be gone and its transactions will appear under the connected account.

How to confirm the merge worked

  • Refresh the page if you don't see the change right away.

  • Open your account list and confirm the historical account is no longer there.

  • Open the connected account and check that the expected transactions are all present.
