Before you start
A few things to know:
Puzzle syncs automatically. Direct integrations like Brex, Ramp and Mercury sync at least once a day, early in the morning Pacific time. Banks connected through Plaid update when your bank sends new data through Plaid.
You can start a sync at any time from the Integrations page. It can't make a bank connected through Plaid send new transactions sooner.
There are two places to sync from, depending on what you need to refresh.
How to refresh your dashboard or financial reports
If a recent change to a transaction or your general ledger isn't reflected in the dashboard or financial reports:
Click the refresh button next to Up to date as of at the top of the report.
Puzzle reloads the report with the latest data in your books. This doesn't pull new data from your banks or integrations.
The timestamp next to the button will update to show when the data was last refreshed.
How to sync your connections
If recent activity is missing from a direct integration like Brex, or you want the latest bank balances:
Go to the Integrations page.
Click Sync all.
Puzzle pulls recent activity (about the last two weeks) from direct integrations such as Brex, Ramp and Mercury. For banks connected through Plaid, it refreshes balances only.
Banks connected through Plaid: there is no way to force a refresh. New transactions arrive when your bank sends them through Plaid. If a Plaid connection shows an error, see Fixing Bank Connection Errors (Plaid).
When to use each option
You want to... | Use this |
Refresh the dashboard or financial reports after editing a transaction or GL entry | Up-to-date as of button |
Pull in recent activity from direct integrations like Brex, or refresh bank balances | Sync all on the Integrations page |
Note: Puzzle syncs automatically, so a manual sync is only needed when you want direct integration updates right away. It can't speed up transactions from banks connected through Plaid.
