# Can I Edit a Manual Journal Entry?

Yes! You can edit a manual journal entry in Puzzle whether it's still a draft or already posted to your general ledger.

To edit an entry:

1. Go to the **Manual journal entries** page.

2. Find the entry you want to change and click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right of the entry line, under **Actions**.

3. Select **Edit** and make your changes.

4. Review the **editing summary**, then click **Confirm**.

**Editing a posted entry?** Puzzle keeps your books accurate and auditable for you. Rather than altering the original posting, Puzzle automatically creates a voiding (reversing) journal entry for the original and posts a new entry reflecting your changes. Before you confirm, the editing summary previews exactly what will happen — the net effect of your edit, the original entry, the voiding entry, and the new entry — so there are no surprises on your GL.

**Editing a draft?** Since a draft hasn't posted yet, your changes simply update the entry directly — no reversing entries needed.
