Puzzle Support can help you with how Puzzle works, but we don’t do bookkeeping in your account. If you’d like an expert to handle your books, Puzzle offers paid accounting services. A vetted Puzzle partner does the monthly work for you, on top of your Puzzle subscription.
All services and add-ons require an active Puzzle subscription. They can’t be purchased on their own.
How pricing works
Your total cost has two parts:
Your software plan: Core or Complete
Your service: priced by your monthly business expenses

Expert Reviewed
Puzzle’s AI does the categorizing, reconciling, and drafting. A bookkeeper reviews it and closes your books every month.
Price: $171/mo for businesses with up to $10K/mo in expenses. This includes the Core plan and the service.
What your bookkeeper does:
Reviews and corrects transactions when needed
Checks your bank and credit card reconciliations
Closes your books every month
Answers up to 3 bookkeeping questions per month
What you do each month:
Categorize and confirm your transactions, and fix anything your bookkeeper flags
Keep all your bank and card accounts connected, and send statements for any account without a live feed
Reply to your bookkeeper’s questions within 2 business days
Who it’s for:
Expert Reviewed is designed for straightforward businesses that meet all of these criteria:
Up to $10K in monthly expenses
One entity and one accounting basis (cash or accrual)
No payroll processing, bills and invoicing (accounts payable/receivable), or inventory
Bank and credit card accounts connected and reconciling
Books that are already in good shape
If your past books have errors, they’ll need to be cleaned up first (see Catch-up Bookkeeping below). If your business grows past these criteria, we’ll talk with you about moving to Full Service.
Full Service
A dedicated bookkeeper runs your entire monthly close. Best for businesses that need hands-on, ongoing accounting support, or that don’t qualify for Expert Reviewed.
Price: Depends on your plan and monthly expenses. Use the slider on our pricing page for an estimate.
Full Service includes:
Full monthly close
Categorization and reconciliations
Accruals and prepaid expenses
Financial statements
A named bookkeeper
Unlimited bookkeeping questions by email
A month-end summary
Add-ons
One-time services, priced up front. Available with an active Puzzle subscription.
Migration: $149. We move your books into Puzzle for you from QuickBooks, Xero, or whatever you use today. Your history comes with you and your balances match. Charged once for each system we move.
Catch-up Bookkeeping: from $300 per month of books. We review, clean up, and close every month you haven’t finished. For example, catching up eleven months costs $3,300.
R&D Study: 1.5% of qualifying spend. If you pay people to build your product, you may be eligible for an R&D tax credit. We prepare the study and give your accountant everything they need to file. For example, a company with $500,000 in R&D spend pays $7,500.
Tax Filing: from $1,250/yr. A partner firm prepares and files your business tax return. Price depends on your entity type, plus $250 for each state you file in.
Common questions
What’s the difference between Expert Reviewed and Full Service?
With Expert Reviewed, you keep your books current and a bookkeeper reviews and closes each month. With Full Service, a dedicated bookkeeper runs your entire close for you. Expert Reviewed is only available up to $10K in monthly expenses.
Can I switch services or plans later?
Yes. You can upgrade your Puzzle plan at any time, and your data carries forward. If your needs change, we can help you move between Expert Reviewed and Full Service.
