# How to setup your Puzzle MCP

Puzzle's MCP (Model Context Protocol) integration lets you connect your Puzzle account directly to Claude, giving you instant access to your financial data through natural conversation — no exports, no copy-pasting.

This integration is currently in **alpha**. It is read-only, requires re-authentication every 5 days, and includes rate limiting for high-volume usage.

## **Before you begin**

Make sure you have both of the following:

- A [Claude.ai](https://claude.ai/) account (any plan)

- A [Puzzle](https://puzzle.io/) account

Once connected, Claude can query 40+ read-only endpoints from your Puzzle account, including:

- Balance sheet

- Income statement

- Trial balance

- Cash activity

- Transactions

- Journal entries

- Chart of accounts

- Invoices

- Bills

- Vendors

- Customers

- Payroll

- Revenue metrics

- Expense metrics

- Spending metrics

- Employee metrics

- Product library

- Classes & departments

- Monthly checklist

- Categorization metrics

## **Setup steps**

**Step 1: Open the Connectors page in Claude**

Go to [claude.ai/customize/connectors](https://claude.ai/customize/connectors), or navigate there via Claude.ai → Customize → Connectors.

**Step 2: Add a custom connector**

Click the **+** button, then select **Add custom connector**.

**Step 3: Enter the Puzzle MCP details**

Fill in the connector fields exactly as shown:

- **Name:** Puzzle MCP

- **URL:** <https://mcp.puzzle.io/mcp>

**Step 4: Authenticate with your Puzzle account**

You'll be prompted to sign in to Puzzle via OAuth. This grants Claude read-only access to your financial data — nothing can be modified or written.

**Step 5: Start asking questions**

Once connected, open a new Claude conversation and start exploring your financials. Try asking things like *"What does my income statement look like this quarter?"* or *"Show me my top vendors by spend."*
