Overview

You can export your financial statements — Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, or Cash Activity — directly from your Dashboard with full control over the date range, report format, and view settings.

Step 1: Turn On "Show by Effective Date"

If you want your export to reflect transactions by their effective date rather than their posting date, you'll need to enable this first.

  1. On your Dashboard, navigate to the Financial Statements section and select which report you're looking to export

  2. Click the View button on the top right of the report

  3. Toggle on Show by effective date

Step 2: Set Your Date Range

  1. Set the date range to your custom date range (e.g. Feb 01, 2026 - Apr 30, 2026)

Step 3: Export the Report

  1. Click the Export button in the top right corner

  2. In the export dialog, configure your options:

    • Report type — Standard or Modified (by effective date)

    • View by — By months, quarters, etc.

    • Date range — Confirm your selected range

    • Classifications — Filter by class if needed

    • Accounting basis — Cash or Accrual

    • Report level — Compact, Summary, or Detailed

    • Export format — CSV, PDF, or Excel

    • Export options — Include account numbers, truncate decimals, summary column preferences

  3. Click Export

⚠️ Note on Modified Reports: If you export using the Modified report (by effective date), the numbers may differ slightly from what you see in your financial statements. This is because an entry can have an effective date in one period but a posting date in another — for example, an effective date of Dec 30, 2025 but a posting date of Jan 1, 2026. The on-screen statements are always based on posting date.
